Gryphon is an independent asset manager founded in 1998 by an experienced team of investment professionals. The time since then has been spent managing funds, but also observing, thinking, and learning. We have created a niche for our specific expertise within the investment industry based on our core capabilities – these are rules-based investing and transition management.

Gryphon has established itself as an innovator of original investment products. This has been done by combining the competencies of our skillful investment team with a solid understanding of the legislative framework of the financial services industry.

We recognise two major risks to investment returns: emotions (namely fear & greed) and costs. In order to mitigate these risks, Gryphon practices a rules-based investment philosophy which ensures that the impact of both emotions and costs are reduced.

We're a small team and that works for us. It allows us to work closely together and share expertise, knowledge, and insights. We don’t spend too much time on job descriptions and titles. Instead, we are all equally committed to the job that needs to be done, whether it’s product structuring, portfolio management, research, business development or client service. This 'cross- pollination' has the effect of keeping us all focused and in touch with our unwavering business and investment objectives.
